A look up Glenwood Canyon from
the put in at Shoshone
This is a great class 3+ run with
good play. I 70 and a bike path parallels this run in Glenwood Canyon making
muti runs very easy. Shoshone is only 1.6 miles long and at 5,900ft.
elevation.

The take out is the Grizzly Creek rest area, Exit 121 off I-70.
The put in is at the Shoshone Power Plant 1.6 mi. east on I-70, Exit 123
Info in the Colorado guide book Colorado Rivers and Creeks by; Gordon Banks
and Dave Eckardt states:
The bike path that parallels this and all runs in Glenwood Canyon is great
for recreation, shuttles, and scouting. However, it’s cantilevered sections
and guardrails are potential traps at very high water. Avoid the nasty
undercuts this path creates when the river is flooding.
