The Green River Narrows starts with a mile hike through the woods to the river.
Half a mile below the put-in, the fun begins. It starts with the innocent looking Bride of Frankenstein. A short
rapid that drops a few feet down a shallow shelf then into a riverwide ledge hole, with a line down the left. Directly following
Franenstein, a good size boulder garden with multiple lines at the top. The main line is straight down over a 5 ft. ledge. Ten fet from the base of the ledge a
house size boulder sits in the middle of the current. The clean line is hard left off the ledge, then keep moving left.
A few class 3 rapids follow and soon our at Left and Die!
Go Left starts with a wo foot drop, then the river splits intotwo channels. The right side goes over another four foot ledge
then over a ten foot slide style falls. The left side drops about six feet where a rock splits the current at the base
of this drop. Left nd right of the rock is just wide enough to get a kayak through, but most of the flow goes left. Up next is swicks.
This drops five feet off a droken ledge, into a swift pool, then pours directly into a riverwide hole, it bends left
and drops off the last five foot ledge. The rapid just below this starts with a lead in on the left side then pours
straight off a six foot drop. Be sure to keep your bow up here. There is a shallow rock in the center at the base
of this drop. Below this rapid is a small eddy on the left and the river starts to drop out of sight. This marks the
scout/portage for Gorilla.

If you decide to run gorilla, below this eddy is a broken six foot ledge
called pencil sharpener. The pool below moves into The Notch. The Notch is a narow crack in a shallow ledge against
the left wall. Once your through the notch the current pushes straight through on the left and over Gorilla. From the
top looking in, Gorilla looks like a huge crack in the canyon. The water rolls over then plunges fifteen feet
onto a steep rock shelf that splits you through the hole below, (speed trap). Theres a short break, not even a pool, before the next two slides.
Ideal line is to stay right on both as they drop left and create a hole against the wall. In to pool below, the next
horizon line dropping ten feet at a 45 degree angle into a newr vertical ten foot slide with a hole on the left side.
Right after this the river tightens up on the right side an fans out as it slides about 30 feet. This on is called rapid
Transit.
The pool below this drains into Groove Tube. The right side starts with a
short broken ledge entrance then left over a five foot ledge then back right over another one. The left side starts
with a tight, slotty, boulder mes that you'll want to portage. Put-in just on the other side of these boulders and
slide into Groove Tube.
<
This is a twelve foot falls that almost curles over your hea at the lip.
From the pool below Grove Tube two eddy's on river right mark the last stop before sunshine. Scout on the right.
Sunshine is a fifteen foot broken falls with a semi truck sized boulder in the base of the falls. Most common line is
out of the eddy on river left, drive hard right, almost up on the wall, off the lep, land in the eddy on the right half
way down the falls, then scrape down the last five feet of the drop.
Below sunshine there's about a mile of fun class three boulder gardens before
you reach Hammering Factor. Take this one down the left side where a house size boulder makes this channel. It drops
off a ten foot angled ledge. The far left side of the ledge extends further down stream and away from getting trashed.
If you fall off the right side your in the hole, thats baked by the house sized rock and pushes back into the ledge.
The highest I saw the Green was @ 150% and this hole was gettin ugly!!
From here it's about a 1/4 mile to the take out. Dress right for the Green, you may only need a PFD and
elbowpads.
